I really get sick of this. I Ann trying so hard to have a relationship with my son, but his own father went even let me. Proof that a dead beat dad isn't always the absent parent. Sometimes the dead beat parent is the one in the home, keeping that could from the other.
A good parent would nurture the relationship, especially if the distance is so far, that they can't physically visit each other more than twice a year.
Encourage the phone calls, video chats, or mail. Don't block it.
